In a recent 30‑minute commentary, TYT host Ana Kasparian revisited Representative Alexandria Ocasio‑Cortez’s (AOC) record on U.S. military aid to Israel, following a public exchange between the two on X. The discussion centered on AOC’s past votes, her public statements, and a new commitment she made during a Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) forum.

Kasparian argued that AOC has, at times, taken positions that conflict with her stated opposition to unconditional U.S. support for Israel. She highlighted several key moments: AOC’s 2021 switch from a planned “no” vote to “present” on $1 billion in additional Iron Dome funding; her 2024 vote against an amendment that would have cut $500 million in defensive military aid; and her support for a resolution endorsing the IHRA definition of antisemitism, which critics say can conflate criticism of Israel with antisemitism.

The commentary also revisited AOC’s remarks at the Democratic National Convention, where she stated that Vice President Kamala Harris was “working tirelessly” to secure a Gaza ceasefire—an assertion Kasparian challenged using statements from U.S. and Israeli officials.

The video concluded with a notable development: at a recent DSA forum, AOC pledged to vote against any future military aid to Israel, including defensive systems such as Iron Dome. Kasparian framed this as evidence that sustained public pressure can influence elected officials, while emphasizing the importance of continued accountability.
